Fionn Quinlan (AUS) & Laura Quinlan (UK), along with their two children, Iyla (4) and Oak (1) are international permaculture designers and practitioners. Based in Sub-tropical Northern New South Wales, they are developing a 21 acre site, Djaning, into an abundant, multifaceted farm-garden, which demonstrates various sustainable methodologies, from water harvesting (swales, dams, gravity fed irrigation systems), to reclaimed/recycled buildings, and much more. Together they have experience working in tropical, sub-tropical, cool and cold temperate climates. They have worked and studied with many internationally renowned permaculture practitioners, including co-creator of the Permaculture concept, David Holmgren and pioneers Graham Bell, Robyn Francis, and Robin Clayfield. Also having worked directly on numerous projects with the home of the Permaculture Research Institute, Zaytuna Farm, owned and operated by Geoff & Nadia Lawton. With over a decade of experience, their teaching methodology and educational approach has been applied and developed in countries such as India, Ghana, Cambodia, Australia and the UK, with their central theme being emancipatory education, or educational empowerment.

At karuna you will be able to see & learn from examples of permaculture design that have been establishing over the past decade and see Permaculture in action all around you.
